Yesteryear wrestler-turned-Bollywood actor Dara Singh is battling for life at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital at Andheri in north-Mumbai, where he was admitted on Saturday following a cardiac arrest.

“His condition is still extremely critical and not stable. He is on ventilator and on heavy dose of medication. We are keeping a close watch on him,” Dr Ram Naraian, Executive Director of the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital told “The Pioneer” on Sunday evening
Eighty-three-year-0ld Singh, who had become a household name in the country both as a wrestler and an actor essaying action and mythological roles in the 1960s and 1970s, was rushed to the Kokilaben Hospital on Saturday after he suffered a cardio- respiratory arrest.
“He had no pulse and was not breathing. We resuscitated him and put him on a ventilator. He is in Intensive Care Unit. We are hoping that his condition would stablise soon. As of now, his condition is not stable,” Dr Naraian said.
Meanwhile, yesteryear super star Rajesh Khanna, who had been undergoing treatment at the Lilavati Hospital for a fortnight, has been discharged from the hospital.
“Khanna is back home. He was discharged yesterday (Saturday). He is absolutely fine now,” his actress-wife Dimple Kapadia said.
Kaka, as Rajesh Khanna is known in Bollywood, had been rushed by his family members to the Lilavati Hospital on June 23 after he complained of acute pain in the stomach. Dimple was on his side ever since then.
Shatrughan Sinha recovering
Meanwhile, actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha continued to recuperate from breathlessness at the same hospital. He was admitted on last Monday for respiratory problems. “He gets breathless occasionally and we have to adjust his medications accordingly. We will keep him under observation. It could take a couple of days,” said Dr Narain.
Sinha was admitted on last Monday.
His family members said it was a severe allergic respiratory reaction to painting going on at home.

The 69-year-old was taken to the hospital on June 23, after he complained of exhaustion and weakness.

According to doctors at the hospital, Khanna was admitted in a private room for better medical monitoring. “He underwent a battery of investigations and doctors were continuously monitoring his health,” said a senior official from the hospital.
